Possibility...: One common and easily treated possibility for your cough is bronchospasm. It is treated with bronchodilator and perhaps steroid inhalers. Your doctor will be able to diagnose this sometimes by simply listening to your chest with stethoscope, sometimes some testing is needed, like pulmonary function tests. If you smoke, you need to quit today. See your doctor but no need to worry! good luck!

He can also perform a breathing test to see whether or not you are wheezing, a sign of asthma. If neither of these are found, then you might have acid reflux.
