Varies some: Kids change from a fantasy based brain to a more realistic one around 8, give or take & the imaginary friends & tooth fairy give way to questions about how things work. When this transition occurs, they are mature enough to understand reasoning & consequences based on reasons rather than just rules.They are also capable of planned manipulative behavior at that point where before it may just happen.

Fun activity: Think of a fun activity that your 10 year old likes that can be done with other people.(bike ride, bowling, sports, etc). Let your child know you have a friend who also likes that activity and you have invited them to join you. Center the conversation about the child and the activity, not your relationship with adult friend. Do this a couple of times over several weeks and let things develop.

Depends on : What is being smoked in the hookah. At minimum - it would act as a respiratory irritant. This would be such an unhealthy choice for a young child.
