Family practice: You may have thrush. It is a yeast infection in the mouth caused by taking antibiotics.

Unlikely: Try brushing your tongue gently, but thoroughly when you brush your teeth in the morning and evening. If the white material on your tongue does not resolve, see your dentist or primary doctor for examination and recommendations.

Possible thrush: Even a single dose of antibiotics can cause a yeast infection of the mouth manifested by a white coated tongue, red inflamed tongue, or red dots on the mouth tissues surrounded by a red rim. Suggest trying probiotic or yoghurt first and if not better then nystatin.
