is there a hormonal reason for a dry mouth/tongue? what helps aside from drinking more?

Possibly: There can be many causes of dry mouth- mouth breathing, (breath more through your mouth than your nose,) meds, supplements, etc. There are many products out there for dry mouth- Biotene toothpastes, rinses, or some new one's- Xylimelts. Best to try and determine cause first.
