Minimal: In general, a knee arthroscopy is a fairly minimally invasive surgery. There is the expected initial pain and swelling which is usually resolved over a 10-14 day period and then any possible complications or recovery from the anesthetic done as well. Thank you for the question.

Pain swelling: Since you do invade the joint with the scope, your joint responds like it has been injured. Pain, swelling, stiffness, leg soreness. Post scope, gentle exercises, stationary bike, pain meds, ice, and rest are all helpful in the recovery. Don't be impatient, recovery often takes longer than expected. Give your joint time and gentle care.
