A member asked:

How to approach one who has mythomania disorder to start getting proper treatment, if this person believes the doctor is wrong when diagnosis is true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very gently: Pathological lying is obviously a difficult condition to approach. My advice is to go gently, appeal to any sense they have of the importance of truth telling. Most world religions appeal to this difficulty every human has in truthfully acknowledging our experience. The truth will set you free, but only if we let it. I think it is our insecurity and ego-clinging that prevents us from being truthfu.
