Progesterone: Progesterone usually calms the body and reduces anxiety. Excess Progesterone usually causes sleepiness. We use Progesterone to reduce anxiety and panic attacks when a patient is low in Progesterone as this hormone works on the GABA receptor in the brain which lowers the excitation in the brain.
