Spicy Foods: Some foods may contain elements that are stimulating to the brain. Once such example are foods that contain elements that cause hot flashes. We may interpret these bodily changes incorrectly and assume we are becoming anxious. While not a spicy ingredient, the caffeine in coffee is a stimulant and too much of it may cause one to become jittery, which could be interpreted as anxiety.
