Why does a new born baby has not poo for a week?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on situation: A newborn must first pass the dark sticky meconium stool & this starts day one or is abnormal.Once it clears, if baby is breast fed they may stool a little smear every feeding or one big crib full once a week. Breast milk is so well digested that it may not leave much behind for poo. If it is soft, the frequency of stooling is not important.Formula babies go more often.
