Depends on goal: For 9 out of 10 patients, the #1 answer is weight loss. Also, if you are just trying to regulate cycles and bleeding, birth control pills are perfect. If you are trying to get pregnant, it may require more aggressive intervention such as metformin and/or medications to induce or augment ovulation.
