Not uncommon: The umbilicus is often used as a port site in laparoscopy, and bleeding within a few days after the procedure is not uncommon. If there is associated redness, with increasing pain, see your doctor. Otherwise, clean the site with soap and water, then apply antibiotic ointment, and light dressing, and this should take care of the problem.

I assume you: Have this coming from an incision. I would say its not unusual to have some drainage, keep it clean with soap and water and use an absorptive, sterile gauze but it should subside. Watch for redness, swelling, increased warmth and pain, these are signs of infection and need attention. Otherwise this is not unusual. Gd luc.
