you may; very well have a common "jock itch' situation where you have a fungal infection of the groin.
You do not need to suffer. But, if simple over the counter anti-fungals are not helping then please get in to see your pediatrician soon. You have nothing to fear.

Use moisturizers: And defer shaving for a while. Avoid scented products. Vaseline, Lubriderm, Cetaphil, Jergens, Organic Coconut Oil, ------- any of theses should work.
