Folliculitis: Redness of skin around hair follicles most likely represents inflammation/infection. Absence of itching is against this being an allergic reaction. Keep the area clean and dry and apply an antibacterial ointment like bacitracin. Avoid tight fitting jeans and wear white cotton underwear. See a physician if redness persists or worsens.
