Tough situation: Is your background asian? If so, it is likely you have a favorable genetic background that makes interferon work really well to eliminate hepatitis c. But it can be very hard to tolerate in older patients with heart issues. And it depends on how advanced the cirrhosis is. I would probably wait for sofosbuvir, although approval may take a while. Talk to your doc and follow the news in the us fda.
