Unusual symptom: Anything extreme should be checked asap to determine the cause, especially if it is also painful, as this could be sign of an infection. Also possible is an insect bite. Allergy would most likely affect both eyes. It is hard to say what specifically about running would cause this to happen, and it might be coincidental. If this is a repetitive problem definitely get an exam.
