Chest pain: If you have a thin chest then what you describe is not unusual. It is even more so if you have pectus excavatum a thinner chest diameter.

Count them: If it's regular and between 60 and 100 while resting, it's normal. If it's unusually slow, fast, or irregular, you should get it checked out. If you're thin, your heart beat will easily feel strong. When you lie in bed, esp left side down or face down, your heartbeat will also feel stronger. These are normal.
