A member asked:

Do males get bv?

No: Bacterial vaginosis (bv) is a disorder of females and may or may not be related to sexual activity. Having multiple male sexual partners or new sexual partners can increase the risk of having a BV infection. There is a strong association with sexual activity but it is not necessary to produce it. This is due to an imbalance of the bacteria in a womans vagina. It can be chronic and hard to treat.

No: BV stands for Bacterial Vaginosis. Thus is an infection involving the vagina. Since males don't have vaginas, they can not get BV.
