High blood pressure: If you have high blood pressure or use inhalers both of these things can cause your head to pound. If it only happens when you stand up from a sitting or lying position, then it may be related to your blood pressure which adjusts when you change your body position. Having a blood pressure machine at home is helpful because you could check your blood pressure when you have these symptoms.
