Lumps and Bumps: My couple of recommendations, which might not be entirely correct, is to get a full understanding of what the doctor(s) currently think the diagnosis is. Then, your friend might want to see a specialist in endocrinology, rheumatology or orthopedics. A ct scan of the abnormal limbs or calcifications might also provide better diagnosis.

Inherited disorder: Familial hypercholesterolemia, an inherited disease of elevated LDL "bad" cholesterol causes early atherosclerosis resulting in vascular calcifications in the arterial wall plaques (lesions).
