Heel pain: Several things...Yes find out what it is by going to your podiatrist or pcp. Several pathologies could be heel fracture, plantar fasciitis, allergic or dermatological skin condition, bone marrow edema, contusion or nerve entrapment. Getting an exam or x-ray can help identify 80 percent of the problem.

Red feet/heel pain: The symptoms you mentioned can be related to sever's disease or reiter'a syndrome or another form of an auto immune disease. Gout should also be rules out. Your son's age and medical history is very important to make a diagnosis for his problem. Certainly, radiographs and lab tests may be necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
