A member asked:

What are c reactive protein and esr a marker for and what can thay tell?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very nonspecific.: Esr and CRP are both markers of inflammation, but they are very nonspecific. Almost anything can elevate them. They are useful when they are normal or "negative". They are not much help when they are positive or elevated.
