My husband is undergoing chemo/avastin for stage 4 non small cell lung cancer. dr stopped chemo after 6 cycles cause weight loss. is this risky?

Yes and no: If he is losing weight, we get concerned about two possibilities: progression or the chemo is causing too much side effects. So sometimes we give a treatment holiday. This allows the person to try and regain some stamina. However, the cancer could get worse. But we take care of both the cancer and the patient.

Depends : Weight loss may be due to side effect from chemo or tumor progression despite the chemo. Either way, stopping the chemo is reasonable.
