Gallbladder Disease: If the work up performed by your G.I. Does not show any evidence of gallbladder disease, then there really is no reason to remove the gallbladder. Maybe other causes of your sons symptoms should be explored.

Other causes: Did your gastroenterologist rule out by scoping esophagitis, gastritis, and duodenal ulcer etc? Most surgeons will not remove a normal gall bladder. Are symptoms classic, brought on by eating certain foods? If the symptoms are typical biliary colic and everything else normal, child may have hyperkinetic gall bladder. There is one small report of removal normal gb with symptom improvement.
