A member asked:

How much potassium would it take to have an overdose in the human body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High Potassium: The answer depends on one's kidney function and how quickly the potassium (k) increases. People with chronic kidney disease (ckd) have higher k levels than those without it and would be expected to tolerate them better than those without ckd. In patients with normal kidney function, a rapid increase over a few hours of k can cause lethal complications. Check with your doctor for more information.
