Possible discomfort.: The hysterosalping is a test to evaluate the status of your fallopian tubes for patency, as well as evaluates the contour and shape of your uterine cavity. A speculum is placed in to the vagina and then a small metal instrument is passed through the cervical opening. This can cause some mild to moderate cramping. A small amount of dye is placed in to the uterus which can also cause discomfort.
