Not sure: Depends on size, location, appearance, symptoms but in general, they are benign.

Check growth: Most fibroids by themselves are not a problem. It is important to monitor to them periodically for any growth.. I suspect this is what the doctors doing with sonogram.

Unclear: There is no reason to do any imaging on a woman's fibroids if there are no symptoms (exs. Heavy menstrual bbleeding, pelvic pain, increased urinary frequency). If she is having symptoms a pelvic ultrasound is reasonable but there wouldnt be a clear reason to do another. Looking to see if a fibroid is growing on ultrasound is irrelevant. What matters is, is the pateint having symptoms?
