Jaw tightness: The only thing i can think of is tetanus, but not sure if it's carried by fleas or mosquitoes.

Diseases: Fleas can carry tapeworms & murine typhus. In some parts of the world to include the southwestern United States they can carry a bacteria called yersinia pestis which can cause bubonic plague. I have not heard of fleas carrying clostridium tetani (tetanus).
