Depends: This is a tricky question. The asa guidelines for npo status state that adults may have "clear" liquids 6 hours before general anesthesia. However, we frequently have patients take morning medications with a sip of water an hour before the procedure. So the answer is this depends on what kind of juice and how much. The bottom line is tell your surgeon and let them decide how to proceed.
