TMJ is a joint: Firstly, we all have 2 tmj's, it is the joint that allows articulation of the lower jaw with the skull. You are scared that you have tmd (temporomandibular disorder), this can be mild, severe, transitory or chronic. All dentists are trained in the anatomy and function of the tmj, but some have spent extra educational time in treatment of the disorder. See a dentist with extra education, patience.

See your dentist: Don't be scared. Often times if caught early the treatment can be very mild. The important thing is to have the appropriate exam. Do some research and find someone with good credentials. Ask your friends also.
