A member asked:

Weird taste in my mouth when i get startled?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More saliva: When you are startled your fight-or-flight response kicks in. This is the bodies way to help mobilize it's resources to deal with a threat. The sudden release of hormones cause heart rate, blood preasure, breathing rate, and salivary flow to all increase. This sudden inflex of hormone laced saliva is what you taste.
