See the surgeon: It is not uncommon for teeth to be loose following periodontal surgery but they should tighten up after 6-8 weeks. Have your husbands bite checked as well as the surgical area to make sure everything ok.

See the doctor: Have the surgeon take a look and evaluate the tooth. Sometimes the tooth could be in premature contact causing the tooth to become loose. Go asap please.

See his dentist asap: It could be an infection, failing surgical area, a problem unrelated to the periodontal surgery or something simple as just needing his bite to be adjusted or the teeth temporarily splinted. Sometimes patients panic and what seems like a very mobile tooth is not really that loose. Regardless, have it checked out by the dentist who did the surgery asap.

See periodontist: Can't tell over the internet which tooth, how bad the bone is, prognosis of his treatment, of any of the other several factors that could cause the tooth to be loose.

Mobility is expected: Mobility of tooth in the area of surgery is expected following dental surgery. It should be stabilized and relieved though by the dentist/surgeon. Postop should be given for these patient by now (usually 1 week, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks postop). These mobility should increase up to four weeks, then started to subside and/or controlled with occlusal adjustment. See your dentist/surgeon.
