Cultured: This can be frustrating... Have a specimen cultured to make sure treatment is adequate; aometimes partners also need to be treated. Also, sometimes older, lesser known/used treatments that were used before today's antibiotics became popular, will work well. One such is a vaginal suppository known as boric acid. Just some options to think about....

Persistent BV...: ...is common and very frustrating. Avoiding sex or consistent condom use may help. Female (lesbian) partners must be treated. Brief treatment (e.g. 2-5 days) once a month with metronidazole by mouth or vaginally (MetroGel) may help. Never douche, which can cause BV and makes it harder to treat. Make sure no foreign bodies in vagina, e.g. forgotten tampon. Maybe see a gyn infectious dis specialist.
