Is surgery indicated for a 30 percent bicep tendon tear? my husband is 35 and very active. will this cause extreme pain in shoulder and shoulder blad

Rest/PT consider srg: If only 30% of the tendon is torn ( usually determined by mri), a period of rest followed by physical therapy will reduce and increase function in aprox 75% cases. If that fails prp can be tried (platelet rich plasma) injection(s). Surgery is indicated if the symptoms persist despite conservative treatment. Often the biceps injury is just part of other problems in the shoulder joint requiring surg.
