I was told i have a isolated right varicocele, and no treatment needed. but i've read that a right varicocele needs to be investigated. what do i do?

Yes needs evaluation: A varicocoele is a collection of veins surrounding the testicle. If present, it is usually associated with the (l) testicle, based on the anatomy of the veins of the body. A (r) sided varix is often a benign finding, but could point to a tumor in the abdomen. At the very least, an ultrasound of the abdomen should be done if an isolated (r) varicocoele is present.

See your MD: It has been proposed that new onset right sided varicoceles in men over 40 should be evaluated as a possible sign of occult malignancy occluding the right gonadal vein. The odds that this is true at age 24 are extremely small but an examination and discussion with your doctor is reasonable and a simple test such as an ultrasound exam can help rule this out.
