That depends.: That depends. Sometimes taking an antidepressant can flip a bipolar patient into hypomania or mania. I do have a number of bipolar patients on antidepressants (including cymbalta) but they are also on either a mood stabilizer or an atypical antipsychotic which is somewhat protective for activation into mania.

Possibly, but troubl: If you have bipolar disorder and are prescribed Cymbalta (duloxetine) for anxiety, pain, panic, or depression, it could help temporarily, but there is a definite risk that the cymbalta, (duloxetine) or any antidepressant, could precipitate a manic or hypomanic episode. This could be very devastating and painful. Take this question to your doctor.
