Byetta safety: Hi this very effecting diabetes medication is relatively safe to use. But, first and foremost is the injection of this medication can lead to pain and infection in the skin if one is not careful and clean when administering it.

A good drug: It is safe, and can help with weight loss also. It is certainly safer than obesity and hyperglycemia. You may read about reports of pancreatitis and even pancreatic cancer. The lawyers are trolling for this, too. The real risk of pancreatic injury from Byetta is not completely known, but is very, very low, and is a handful of isolated reports out of millions of people who have used it.

Very safe: Byetta can cause some nausea and GI upset, usually at the start of therapy, but this usually resolves. There can be some pain at the injection site. The tv ads about possible pancreatitis and cancer of the pancreas are lawyers trolling for money. Both disorders are more common in diabetes no matter what the therapy. Risks are very, very small and generally insignificant. Diabetes is the risk.
