Contact dermatitis: You likely have allergic contact dermatitis from the ring. Some people are allergic to the gold itself, others are allergic to other metal alloy that hardens the gold, most often nickel. Avoiding the ring is the long term solution. You can have allergy patch testing done by your dermatologist to determine if you are truly allergic.
