Depends on your : Health and other risk factors. Taken in isolation total cholesterol of less than 200 is within normal range. However, desirable level depends on your family history, tobacco use, diabetes, prior history of heart disease etc. Please discuss the issue with your doctor.

Cholesterol: If you have no risk factors for atherosclerotic disease a total cholesterol of up to 200 isn't necessarily bad. If there are any risk factors then down in the low 100's is preferable. We look at HDL and LDL more specifically often.
