Yes, it's possible: When babies in the womb can't swallow well, amnionic fluid can build up. However, at least half of cases of polyhydramnios are not associated with any problem condition in the baby. Many babies spit up. It gets to be a problem if the child isn't growing well. Your doctor can do several tests to see what might be wrong to help decide if treatment is needed.

Hard to say: The frequency of reflux activity in newborns approaches 100%, most of which never had polyhydramnios. Babies can't burp without refluxing air, and the wet stuff is just an additive.If the kid is feeding normally and growing at a normal rate, i would not worry much about the swallowing issue.
