A member asked:

I have asthma and acute bronchitis. can i take vitamins with methylprednisolone?

Yes: They do not interact. Don't spend too much money on vitamins but some people may be helped by a cheap multivitamin-and-mineral tablet. Most of my pulmonologist friends recommend inhaled glucocorticoids over systemic glucocorticoids for asthma / acute bronchitis if at all possible. Asthma can be miserable; often a variety of medicines must be tried. Good luck.

Vitamins: There is no contraindication to taking the run of the mill multivitamins (centrum/ one a day/ etc) while taking oral steroids steroids for exacerbations of lung disease. Just be careful with the herbal meds and be sure to read the labels and do your research about interactions with other medications.
