Done often: It is not unusually to take 300mg of trazodone off label for insomnia. A zoloft (sertraline) dose of 40mg is a little unusual. Often it is started at 25mg and then increased to 50mg per day. It may be bumped up by 25 or 50mg increments. They are often used together. Some pharmacists become alarmed if they see two medications in an antidepressant class being prescribed togehter but it is done often.

Problem: Because sertraline comes in 50 mg tablet and usually u either take 1/2 tablet which is 25 mg or a full tablet 50 mg.
