Ankle sprain : An ankle sprain is a stretching or tearing if the ligaments that stabilize the ankle joint. A sprain usually only lasts up to 8 weeks. If the pain is persistent i would recommend seeing either a podiatrist or an orrhopedic surgeon. The answer to your question is that ice would be fine to take down swelling and help with pain and will not do any damage to your ankle.

Definately won't : Damage....Unless you freeze your skin....You can use it.....But, you may want to visit a doc if it doesn't get better soon cause 2 months later, you should be well on your way unless the sprain was severe.
