Uncommon but not rar: It is not uncommon in the usa or uk. It is uncommon in ages 40 or less but not rare.

It is uncommon..: There is an increasing number of younger patients in the europe and us diagnosed with throat cancer. Human papilloma virus has been a culprit, through viral transmission and oral sex. Other risk factors are smoking and alcohol. Patients with viral etiology have better prognosis. Treatment includes radiation and/or surgery for early stages and can be curative. Chemo is included for advanced dis.
