Yes it is: Yes it is rare but not unheard off. It is quite an uncommon cancer in the caucasians in the uk and usa. It is much more common among the asians.

Yes, no: Esophageal cancer is rare in young patients, but you should still seek medical evaluation if you are having symptoms such as problems swallowing or rapid, unexplained weight loss. I am not aware of any data indicating that esophageal cancer is more or less common in the uk than in other western countries.
