If you get a cyst does that mean i did not ovulate correctly that month?

No: If you do not get a cyst, you probably didn't ovulate. Ovulation occurs when an ovarian cyst reaches about 20mm in diamenter. That cyst ruptures and releases the egg. No cyst, no ovulation.
