D/w your doctor: I don't think that the earlycdt test is at primetime yet at this time to be used to anybody. It perhaps can be done for people who are at high risk for developing lung cancer- like heavy smokers. But it's not something i would do to my patients at this time as the test still has to go though validation and quality control test etc.Go to see your doctor who order and d/w him.Quit smoking if you do!

Evaluate risks: I may be outdated but i don't do the same. The test is too nonspecific for diagnosis or even to establish risk that i don't do it. Look at your risks, get a cxr or if needed a low rad ct. The cdt misses too many with actual cancer, i.e., can be negative and there is cancer, and can be positive when there is none. In my opinion, it only causes more anxiety and sometimes rift between md and patient.
