Differen opinions..: The cancer center will have more resources more than likely, but better for your mother will be up to you all as a family unit. You may get more personal treatment at a local office. Most will probably say cancer center, but my mother in law has stage 4 breast cancer and she gave up a great cancer center for the personal touch her local oncologist offers. Should get good care at either facility.

Office: Oncologists routinely give chemotherapy in their office in the outpatient setting, usually in a space designed for that purpose. This also avoids the risk if contracting anything resistant from the hospital setting.

It is the same: It is the same. For lung cancer, we give treatment in the outpatient setting i.e. Office. For certain type of cancer where intensive therapy requiring continuous infusion for days and close monitoring -i.e. For acute leukemia- we usually start the treatment in the inpatient setting- ( hospital). In some countries abroad, chemotherapy can only be given in the hospital.
