Possible HIV: A low WBC count means you are unable to fight infection well. It could be unknown reason or it could be hiv. They probably want to make sure you don't have hiv. Low platelets could be due to a disease called itp, and treatment depends on how low your platelets are. If you bleed your body may not be able to stop the bleed due to low platelets.
