Apply pressure: Cover the wound with a clean cloth and apply direct pressure into the area that is bleeding. If the wound is on an extremity, elevate the extremity above the heart, or lay down and elevate the wound. Look at the clock and firmly hold the pressure, (no looking) for 10 minutes. If this pressure does not solve the problem, go in to minor er for evaluation.

Why bleeding: Many things affect this the type and location of the wound whether taking Aspirin placid or Coumadin (warfarin) or bleeding disorder as well as what has been done to try to stop it a bleeding wound may need a doctor who can look at it and assess cause aggravating factors and reasonable treatment.
