Direct pressure : Apply direct pressure to the wound for 5 minutes. If there is no change in bleeding or if the wound appears deep see an urgent care or er for a wound evaluation and possibly stitches.

Pressure/elevation: Direct pressure to the wound and elevation of the body part. If it is bleeding severely or is a large gaping wound get immediate medical help but keep the pressure and elevation while traveling.
